Saturday, July 7, 6:30 – 7:30 pm
For the first time in Oakland history, the East Bay community will join together to highlight some of its top authors and performance artists in the first annual East Bay Literary Pub Crawl…The Beast Crawl!
Curated by Sharon Coleman, your featured performers are:
Sara Beth Chavanne has been published in Cherry Bleeds, an online literary journal and Milvia Street. She lives in Oakland, self-publishes zines, works as a baker and writes lyrics, sings and plays in a band.
Mary J. Dacorro knows that whether her poems are angry or not, they inspire a lot of people (who are not into necessarily into poetry) to write and appreciate poetry. She’s a starving student and a fabulous tutor.
Linda King is a poet, performance artist, singer and songwriter, originally from Ohio. She just completed an MFA in Creative Writing at Mills. Her work appears inMilvia Street and Shampoo.
Cleavon Smith is a graduate of Mill’s Creative Writing Program, teaches English at Berkeley City College, and has made his home in Berkeley with his wife and brand new baby daughter.
This will be a real treat and unique way to start your Saturday night. Please join us. You can learn more about the Beast Crawl at http://beastcrawl.tumblr.com/about.
